N. "syurga" (ventricosa x northiana) potting medium

Hello, everyone,

So I am pretty new to both this forum and CPs. My first and only Nepenthes is a cross between a ventricosa and a northiana. I think they call is a N. Syurga, and I haven't been able to find any info on this hybrid. So I was reading that peat and sphagnum stunt the growth of northianas...but wondering whether that effect is countered at all by having ventricosa in the mixture. My little plant pitchers at a rate of about one per month.

Can anyone give me some advice on the sphagnum and peat? I have it potted in a peat/perlite/vermiculite/orchid bark mixture, with live sphagnum on top.

Thanks!

nice plant! I'd say to just leave it be, since it seems to be doing well for you as it is pitchering well. I wouldn't set the plant back by reporting unless absolutely necessary. Or as the old saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
