Quote[/b] ]ok ok ok. hold up now. the northiana that this guy is offering is unrooted. i think its a good idea that its unrooted because it may die in transit. but neps, how easy is this to root? and how big are the cuttings? any pics? u do have a good point to share them instead of throwing them i the trash but i personaly think you may have all the nepenthes that everyone has. is there something in paticular that you are looking for? the northiana is somewhat common on the market but not that size and thats what makes it rare because anyone that doent know how to take car of this will of course, kill it because of the inexperience. how often do you repot, i must know:O

Yes, these cuttings are unrooted. By that, I mean that they
will be freshly cut from the vine. My experience with them (I
have rooted a few before) is that they are pretty easy, typically
rooting in a couple of months. However, to be successful, you
will need to supply appropriate lighting (see my previous remarks
about this), a photoperiod of about 13 hours, high humidity, and
temps between about 70 and 90 F.

Cuttings are three nodes. Leaves are a foot long or so.

I am looking for other rare, mature Nepenthes -- either unusual
color forms or stuff like N. klossii, N. mapuluensis, etc. However,
since few people have these, cash is also considered.

Finally, yes, it is true that small specimens of N. northiana are
pretty common. However, as you observed, it is quite
uncommon to find a mature specimen. In fact, I have never
seen anyone offer cuttings from a mature plant before. So,
that is why I am asking for it what I ask. My opinion is that it's
still a pretty good deal, however.

BTW, I don't repot very often. Previously, I have only done so
to provide the plant with more room for its roots. So, I would
say that this has only happened every two or three years, at
best.

I hope that this has answered your questions. Thanks for
asking!

WOW!!! 2-3 years?!?!?! must know the mix that doesnt break down and pretty sure everyone else wants to know! i think you said LFS? and by any chance will you make a smaller cutting once you have made larger cuttings? PM'ed you on why.. thanks!

LFS will indeed last for years if you use pure water. Oh how I love LFS

. Good for everything but food!

Hi,

Nope; I don't use LFS for this plant.

I will probably not make smaller cuttings. I intend to sell
all the vine that I can.

I have now replied (I think) to everyone who wrote me about
this. If you wrote me and have not received a message from
me, please resend your message. I'm afraid that the number
of messages I received made it a bit difficult to be as well
organized as I would prefer.
