Misting Question

So my two bogs in the backyard seem to be doing okay. However, the top layer of LFS seems to constantly dry out with the weather here in southern california. I have been misting the dried out parts every morning. Is this a bad idea? is it not needed? keep in mind I have little no no humidity most of the year

it is fine, you barly water the bog when spraying unless your there for minutes at a time. but the lfs will never come to life if its dried out.(unless its already live)
