i just had 2 fluorex fail on me.
you can try but im not going to guarantee they will work
they give good light but have a high fail rate

personally i would do this
go to Home depot, buy a shoplight fixture, preferably one that houses 2 lights
if your going to grow a nep, trust me, you will get addicted and you WILL get more. it happens.
but on to the light fixture
pre wired light fixture is the easiest, you can get one that needs wiring if you cant find a good prewired
i, myself run for my terrarium, 2 20watt 24" daylight fluorescent bulbs at about 3 dollars each.
i also have a small 26watt spiral fluorescent light on it, but it produces a very small amount of light.
you can get the fixture and lights from home depot however for about 30 dollars, alot easier in my opinion for better lighting too.
