Is my sarracenia dead?

Adam

Sarracenia Collector
My sarr looks like it's dead, because it the pitchers look like they dried up, turned brown, and i cut them off. I was wondering if it's alive : it's in my pond now. It was in wet soil when it dried up, the same now. Also, i have a flava doing this. The soil for rubra (first dried up) is pure peat and the flava is 50/50 peat and sand

Have you checked the rhizomes? you should unbury them and inspect them, if the rhizome is firm, and rosy-white color it should be fine.

Squeeze it. The rhizome can look like cork; and it'll be okay. If its hard its alive; if you squished it. Err, it is gone.

ill squish it tommorrow. thanks

All are dad
