1. how long does it take for the trap to turn red? mine has a trap that opened about a week ago. i have been keeping it in about 9 hours of direct sun a day.

2. what would be a good diet( bugs per month)?

Red traps are a matter of genetics, some turn very red, others only slightly pink. With 9 hrs. of direct sun, within a couple of weeks it will reach whatever color the variety dictates I think. (Read the forum posts regarding too much sun too fast). I grow my plants outside and they trap what they need without assist for me so I can offer no guidelines on this, and will leave it to anyone who has experience with feeding their plants.
