Hirofumi Doi Visit

Here are a few photos from the Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center, Kasai City Japan. The CP collection is managed by Hirofumi Doi.

They grow mostly lowland plants. They probably have the largest N. clipeata and N. pervillei in cultivation.

Thanks,

Amazing pictures of an amazing collection. As usual.

Looks like your trip was a great success. Lots and lots of fun!

Sweet photos! That N. pervillei is fantastic
Any tips you were able to gleam on how they are caring for it? Just typical lowland conditions? Looks like it's in moss?

Yeah basically as much light as they could provide. The larger N. pervillei would be moved outside in full sun durning the day and brought back inside at night if it was to cold. They would let the top inch or so of moss dry out before watering it. It sounded like it would be watered every 3 or 4 days. It was growing in 100% LFS with the bottom couple inches filled with rock/gravel to help with drainage.

They have not had much success rooting N. pervillei cuttings, he said he was lucky to get 1 out of 5.

Amazing photos Jeremiah, thanks for sharing. Is the second plant peltata? The pitcher seems to resemble it

Those are some of the most glorious raffs that my eyes have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Awesome, awesome trip Jeremiah.
