Helis are doing well

Heli

Today I repotted my heliamphora heterodoxa x minor and pulchella because they were starting to run out of space in their communal pot.

My H. heterodoxa x minor a couple months ago, it arrived as a single division plant

what media are you using? is that sphagnum, charcoal, perlite?

  • #12
Beautiful plants you have there :-O

Thanks dyzio.

@pebes, mostly sphagnum with a bit of charcoal, perlite, orchid bark, and choir.

looking good luca, u da helimeister

Ive used net pots for helis in the past, great for small ones but heli roots are too "adventurous"
The tend to wonder outside of the pot very quickly, dont really recommend them long term

but ymmv

LOL helimeister. That's gonna be my avatar sig. The pulchella seems to do ok with the net pot for now. Once I make my Greenhouse though it will be upgraded to a bigger solid pot.

  • #16
pulchella would do better long term in a net pot than say folliculata, but (IMHO) in the case of heliamphora, I see no advantage to net pots

  • #17
Yea I mainly did it to save space, having a ten gallon tank an all :p

Please stop this greatness. Your making me crave Helis.
