Hey y'all!
My friend recommended me to this site. For those that know buddhistsoldier88 thats me and hi! I'm a soldier, a proud Buddhist, a son grieving for the loss of his mother who died too early (45), a loving fiance, and a great friend to many. I have always loved nature and how diverse evolution is and for those who cant see it in these plants are truly blind. :-)) (love the smilies) :) I'm 18 and live in Rock Island IL. I love to laugh and have fun. I also practice Martial Arts so those of you who do too please contact me i would love to discuss! ::-O Any other questions, please DONT hesitate to ask!!

Forgot to mention that there is more to being a soldier than killing. Transportation, cook, etc. I'm a Mental Health Specialist or just a fancy title for psychiatrist. I havent left for any any training yet. Ship out 12-06-2008. (thats june 12 if i did that right).
 
Well like I said i HAVENT left for training. Thats in june. And basic takes nine weeks. THEN ('round september) ill be in Ft. Sam Houston, TX for a long while.... 22weeks is what the Army says. I looked it up, they say its more of an assisstant to a psychiatrist, but I'll be working with ANYONE who has mental health problems. and I'll be 19 when I ship out for basic. Then soon after I'll be 20 (12-13 is my bday). Where from there i dunno. Guess i wait til i get my orders.

Oh, sorry Alex just read your question. Didnt mean to be rude :blush: No but my friend Sparky (idk what his name is on here but he lives in long beach cali if that helps) is sending me some d. capensis seeds cause his is just about to drop some. I DID have a plain VFT but i was gone and it passed and with my mother being ill i could really care less that it looked like crap.. But I'm getting into it! Always loved crazy stuff like this!! :banana2: (love the banana too:-)) )
 
ohh! sparky! i talk to him all the time on AIM and online. his user name here is Peanut. there are a lot of people living in So Cal near you. keep your eyes peeled! have you seen Sparky's collection. he has one of the nicest Nepenthes ventrata i have ever seen! so dark!!

I live in IL not so cali. And i havent seen his collection. I'm sending some giant asian mantids to him. they'll be up to like 5".
 
Hey everyone its been a year since I've been on. I am now deployed to Iraq as an MP (Military Police) and have been here for 5 months. I have grown up but my love for these awesome plants has not waivered! It has been a long long journey for me being in the Army and I have learned a lot about myself. It would be nice to hear from my old friends and make some new ones.
