Do you have a pic of the underside? It almost looks like a type of cicada with those wings. Not that I know anything about insects.

Looks like Zeuzera pyrina, the Leopard Moth.
a non-native, invasive species..sounds like its quite rare!

There is a web site called What is that Bug...or something like that. I have IDed a lot of bugs there.
