Flower power

A good kick-start to this thread. I've got my D. cuneifolia getting ready to bloom. I will do my best to capture a photo or two when the flowers are opened.

D. cuneifolia as promised:

This flower is approx. 3 cm. (1 1/4 inches) across. 'Pretty large as Drosera flowers go.

And the originating plant.

D. tracyii is still at it of course.....

... with D. x hybrida joining in.

Then along comes one of those D.spatulata complex type plants otherwise know as little sticky rosette type thingies that seed themselves anywhere in the collection where they can find a centimetre of bare peat.

And just to show that all the interesting colour stuff isn't necessarily in the flower itself we have D. slackii, this morning, preparing to erupt.......

..........and again from the archive, just because I have it.

Looks like your D. slackii as at about the same stage of development as mine:

from the archives here's what the seed looks like:

Then there is D. hamiltonii which has been going at it since the end of March:

and seeds from the archive:

Note: Photographing flowers on windy days outdoors isn't recommended but using flash can help.

D. slackii finally. I missed the first flower.
