Fern Moss Thing

Sorry for the blurry photo, I took this when the tank was dark. The moss came from the US. I want to know what is growing out of it, I like it a lot.

I've hiked through sphagnum bogs here in the Eastern USA. White cypress trees are quite abundant in and around bogs on the east and southern coast of the USA. Some of them stay quite small due to the lack of nutrients and likely a lack of stable ground upon which to grow huge. Not sure which part of the USA your moss came from but it certainly resembles a tiny evergreen coniferous tree.

That is another species of moss growing with the sphagnum. Not sure what species but it grows with sphagnum fairly often in shadier parts of bogs often in close association with cedar.

Having a bit of a google and it looks like Lycopodium dendroideum or similar , see how it grows

That's my guess too.

It's not a Lycopodium. Probably a Hypnum species.
