It's interesting to me how these pitcher plants can be growing in the woods - everyone says "OMG as much sun as possible at all times 25 hours every day!!" but.. these plants look good to me! And obviously there must be some sort of nutritional value to the soil otherwise I'm sure trees wouldn't be able to grow out of it.

and then, Splinter Hill Bog!! It was very crispy here too, with the occasional wet spot. Still found some VERY nice leucophylla, and other plants too of course :-P And you can't forget the butterflies either!
