Drosera Feeding

Hey Everyone How Many Weeks Wiil It Be Untill My D.Capensis Can Start To Feed By Itself When Grown From See ? How Many Weeks About Any Ideas ?

Richard

Carnivorous plants can feed themselves as soon as the first true or trap leaves are fully developed. Just so long as there is prey small enough available for them to trap - usually springtails or other micro fauna.

I've never deliberately grown Drosera capensis from seeds. I would wildly guess 2-6 weeks after germination.

Thanks not a number although i dont wanna feed it i want it to feed itself its been about 2 weeks now its looking good i think :) thanks for the info

Richard

As soon as I can grind up dried blood worms small enough to land on a leaf (without being overly tedious) I feed them.
Changes in leaf size w/o food are almost unoticible- with food =scary fast growth.
