Thought it was time to post recent pics of my outdoor CPs.

The renovated bog is looking good and everything seems to be happy in their new digs.

Nice bog! The Sarracenia are stunning. Did the bumblebee eventually get caught by a pitcher?

Very awesome. Everything is laid out so neatly. Love how it looks with all the labels.

Thank you! As everything grows and fills in, in a couple years it will not look so neat/tidy and the labels will disappear beneath the mass, haha. I love the look of a mature bog garden, but also like to be able to appreciate individual plants in one, so me thinks I may have overplanted...

Thank you! Yes it did, but I fished it out and released it. I like my bumblebees. I also fish out the honey bees when I catch them just falling in.

Everything is looking terrific Djoni! I see you've had no trouble getting Umlauftiana settled in ;-).

Thank you Paul. OMG, the Umlauftiana is still making pitchers! By far one of the most stunning plants in the bog, right up there with Miss Leah, I just lover her and I can't thank you enough.

Looks fantastic! I didn't realize you had so many different plants. Is that a ping I see right in the middle?

Thanx John. Yes, that is a P. grandiflora you see. I have a few of them in the bog, they spread like weeds, haha. Look closer and there is one flowering to the left just above the purps in the first photo.

I'm so glad those two are among your favorites. They are two of my faves as well. I'm glad they are in such capable hands. :)

Drop-dead gorgeous plants. Obviously grown with a lot of love and care. You're clearly one of the masters of bog gardening. Thanks for sharing.

Is that growing on the sunny or shady side of the bog? My P. primuliflora hasn't been liking being out in direct sun lately.

I have to say I love the S. umlauftiana too. It's quite a spectacular-looking plant.

Haha, you are my friend even though we have not spoken for quite a while (my fault).

I have to say I love the S. umlauftiana too. It's quite a spectacular-looking plant.

The pings get full morning sun and are shaded from the hot afternoon sun by the sarrs. The ones I have in pots that are getting direct sun all day are looking pretty ratty with this heat wave we are having though. I have found that for me P. grandiflora do okay in direct sun most of the day once they get established in the bog (not so much potted), but do better with dappled sun at least part of the day. I don't know if the difference between potted and the bog is that in the bog they go through periods being more dry between periods of flooding when I water, and sitting in water trays potted I may not be keeping the soil moisture at the right level?

In my experience P. primuliflora are picky about conditions and don't like changes, they like more consistent conditions than I can provide growing them outside. I did have one that survived a couple years or so in the bog, survive but not actually thrive. I had it growing at the base of a large sarr surrounded by moss and it got dappled sun only (I finally dug it up and gave it to someone who had better conditions for it). All others I had potted perished within the first season.

S. umlauftiana is a spectacular plant. This one is one of the nicest I have seen of the variety and I am grateful to have it in my collection.
