D. sargenti Question

A few months ago I received D. sargenti gemmae. They sprouted well and they looked like this in January:

Now they look like this:

What's with the stipules? Oh, and is the a pulchella that got mixed in?

They form the hairs at a young age, that's what's nice about that specie. They will keep on growing...it's not a dormancy reaction it's just how the specie grows.
The intruder looks to be a nitidula x pulchella ...for now.

Phewww! They're only on a 10 hour photoperiod and temps 65-75 F. I never saw that happens so soon.

mine aren't quite as far along as yours ,but are doing the same thing , i like the little hairs ,
im using the sand treatment next time i start gemmae , those giant pieces, of perlite are dwarfing my
pygmy dews. LOL
