D. peltata seedling on the hunt:-)

It just amazes me how big is the ability of some drosera species' seedlings to catch its pray. I checked on my D. peltata seedlings today and saw how 3mm plant successfully caught .5cm fruitfly:

I just hope one day when she grows up she will not eat me:-)

It probably will rot.....the fly is way too big, but that is course of nature...except in this case it is anomalous.... beacuse if she wins she will also lose:-)

Yes. it is a very greedy plant indeed! Now funny thing happened. I looked in this morning and the fly successfully escaped this little hungry mouth. Didnt get too far though because now it is stuck to a neigbour miniplant...and dead. Maybe peltata heard about the collective hunting from my pygmies:-)
