Congratulations to the Canadians!

All of those from the land to our north should feel justifiably proud of what they have accomplished with their celebration of winter athletics. Sure there were a few hiccups here & there & some whiners (can you say Russian figure skater?) and sometimes the weather didn't cooperate but overall they put on a spectacle that I truly enjoyed & will remember for a long time. They did it with class & a respect for their fellow competitors that was commendable. Their last-day victory in hockey over the USA with superstar 'Sid the Kid' sneaking in an overtime goal from the side to grab the gold medal seemed almost pre-ordained...

The skit in the closing ceremony where they 'fixed' the 4th flame & gave the lady her chance to light it - was great!

That was a SERIOUS contest in the gold medal hockey game, truly a spectacular match, and luck was totally a factor in the outcome. Overall the games were quite fun, it's good to know that others enjoyed them- our "personal best" performace made a lot of Canucks quite happy- the celebrations last night were insane!
