NASC auction is OPEN!!

Cephalotus growing on some Driftwood

how is it that they grow on drift wood when some say they need deep pots? just wondering.

I would not say this is a good way to grow Cephalotus, just a way they will grow. That little one is I think 2 years old and still very small. I've had very good results when I get the driftwood in the correct amount of moisture, but again not a good way to grow them, I've never seen anything that looks like roots...

If your looking for good repeatable results go with deep pots. If you have 20+ Cephalotus, stick one on a some driftwood :banana2:.

The photo does not do the growth justice, but it had a bit of a spurt there. Bout time to trim the sphagnum again.

Did you try a bit of Cephalotus on your lithophytic Utric setup yet? Someplace moist and mossy but not soaked perhaps...?

I like them both but agree the aquatic plant setup is very professional looking. Are you going to do a topsy turvy cephalotus next:p?

Update time!

Finally starting to get some larger pitchers with this one.

Take note of the VFT on the right (from this years NASC auction), it was a single leaf piece that broke off while potting. I figured it would just rot and die. The main plant is doing very well also.

Closer look. The largest pitcher is just over 1/2".
