Can you trim nepenthes at the stem?

Can I trim this nepenthes at the stem? It's getting a bit long and I don't know what to do

Depends if you want to keep the front half or the back half.

Yup. N. x ventrata is a weed. Lopped off ten feet of stem from the one at work and it didn't blink an eye. Looks like yours could stand to lose a few nodes if you really want to shorten it, but keep in mind since it is about to pitcher you'll be delaying new pitcher growth for some time.

I trimmed my venti x hamata totally back and sent the stem to a friend, a few short months later I was rewarded with this

Nice! thanks for the help guys. I'm thinking the pot I currently have it in might be a bit overkill. Was thinking of putting it in a 6 inch pot so I can fit 2-3 other hardy nepenthes under there. Any recommendations on hanging pots I can buy online?
