I was wondering what happened to this project! Glad to see some progress!
sure, though there's not much to look at tbh.
two additional campanulata will be planted in the lower right bottom of the formation.
backside... not much going on there. will probably leave it like that.

we may yet come back to it. but right now, i like the minimalist look. I initially watered it down when I first received the plants and have been doing occasional misting since. the setup currently lives in a plastic bag. hopefully i can acclimate them to room temp conditions.

It's going to be sweet when it fills in!! Fantastic work Jon, almost makes me want to take the original apart.

please dont! this is the first time i think ive ever seen a vining campanulata! you've gotta wire it down to tame it.
let me know if you plan to enter your piece again-- i dont want to compete with the OG! your plants look wonderful!

That will look amazing once they grow in! I might have to try something like this in the future
let's hope they grow in! it's getting quite bakey-wakey here...you should join the no-pot bandwagon train. everybody's doing it.
they do it naturally in the wild. good light will keep the plant flush against the rock, in their rosetted pattern. the pitchers will develop orthogonal to the leaves.

Nice to hear from you. Things have been super busy. I recently (3-4 months ago) had to do a major repot of everything. A fern had completely overrun my tank and I had to remove everything and repot. I also repotted a bunch of valuable nepenthes seedlings that I grew for 3y in new mineral media (akadama/kanuma) and lost almost everything
. Just trying to pick up from where I left off. Lesson learnt: don't make drastic changes. Thankfully, my older neps in akadama actually are still doing great. The seedlings in kanuma really didn't like it. Lost so many amazing plants like xkinabaluensis etc. Tanks are still looking pretty messy. Have to clean them up one of these days and take some nice pics.cheers

Ouch, that's a lot of pain! Sorry for your losses but I'm also glad that you were able to recoup and remain in the hobby! Why do suspect the seedlings performed poorly?

Still not sure. I guess the root disturbance was too much. The outcome was always similar. Plant just doesn't grow for over a few weeks and just suddenly collapses.. all growth dies. Even though roots look ok, it is too late: they are just too far gone.
So far so good. Nothing dead yet.
Took out some sprigs of small bucephalandra, to add some color and texture. Also attempting a mixed carpet of moss and utricularia gramminifolia to cover the turface
Between the buce and the algae on the stone I knew you'd be a planted tank guy! Dont these two hobbies mesh perfectly?!
