Love them, great pics. i really enjoyed the one of the frog.

Thank you. I was going through some of my pics and decided to post a few of the many "bugs" that frequent my CPs. My faves are the tree frogs and praying mantids. The garter snake pic did not come out clear enough to post :( they love to munch on the slugs that cause havoc in the bog.

Maybe if I obtain as many plants as you have, I can attract some mantises. I haven't seen an adult in years.

They are not attracted to the yard, I buy egg sacks every couple years or so and the years we have a very warm spring they have time to mature and lay eggs in the yard. The first frost kills the adults but not the egg sacks, so if I get lucky there will be babies hatching in spring. Most years though they don't hatch early enough to mature to breeding age before the first frost kills them. If I get babies next spring, I will bring you some for your yard :-D
 
Totally cool. I, too, love the reddish color of the mantises. 'Didn't know they could ever look like that!
