Hoping these do better for me this year. Last year in an outdoor setup 100's of fry but I only managed to raise 2(someone must have gotten them first). These shots just before I put them back into their pond which I cleaned out.
The female clearly not happy about this. She got water on the lens...probably trying to tell me not to photograph her!
The male, almost as uncooperative. These would be his fright(dull) colors...notice how faded the spots are. When he's feeling good he's a stunner...deep purple black and spangled with brilliant blue spots all over the body and orange tinted fins.
