So on Sunday I decided to get over my dislike of spiders and I went out and caught a jumping spider after reading how intelligent they are. I gave it a smaller brown spider to eat and it did. Now he is in my room chill in a Tupperware with a bottle cap for water and a twig on the gerund...

So I have some orchids and one of them got spider mites, I isolated it and tried to minimize the spread but those buggers got into the others. I have a Very limited space to keep everyone (all my plants) until I can move the CP's outside and sadly everyone got attacked.
This is the formula...
Hello! I have had carnivouros plants for about 2 months now. I love them.
I have grown indoor plants and out door plants a while now.
I found this forum because I need help with Spider Mites. They have successfully killed off my north american pitcher plant already. ( I think I got my plants...

Happy faced spider:
I lost a lot of my temperate collection to fungus gnat larvae and root rot this last winter. One plant I lost was a Oreophila with 26" pitchers. I've never experienced such decimation before, and I don't want to experience it again. I've cleaned my grow area, removed all the old pots full of...
Here we go ;)

Finally, I found my first Phidippus spider! Been looking for one for a while. I wasn't even looking, was sweeping on my patio and noticed a black spider. Caught it, still not knowing what it was, just knew I've never photographed one of these before. It wasn't after I started taking these...
I was messing with one of those types of spiders that bit me and it bared these blue fangs, T style with the 2 front legs up and everything.
I didn't get a pic of that but got these pics in low light.
PICS
Anyone know what this is?
I know nothing about insects.
Peace,

It seems like every other post of mine is "Help! My _____(insert CP name here)_____ is dying!!!" Well, add this one to the list.
Ever since I got my P. Primuliflora it's been slowly turning brown. When it arrived in the mail it was all upset - it had been dislodged from its pot and it was...
Hello All,
Recently I had the pleasure of showing Stewart McPherson some CP sites in the Fl. Panhandle, including the famous Tate's Hell Preserve, known for it's outstanding Sarracenia leucophylla colonies. Here's a few photos to wet your whistle... ; ) More to follow, along with a new HD video...
Was at my parent's house and noticed this cute little guy in mid air hanging from a tiny thread. I took him home, took pics of it and let it go. :)
Thiodina hespera
I caught this rather large non-furry cobweb spider following this fluttering moth back and forth across the ceiling, finally the moth got ensnared in a web. This spider would bite it, tie a few strings on the moth and run the moth would flutter like mad the spider would come back bite the moth...
I just bought a Sarracenia in a local garden center for their sale and did not notice the white webby stuff when I bought it. When I took it out of it's box I noticed a little bit of what looked like a spider web. But the next day after being in my new setup- the white webs became more...

I just got bit on the foot while minding my own business by a 1/2 inch long spider.
It looked like a jumping spider but huge.
I'm hoping I don't have to worry about a reaction.
I have never been bitten by a spider before.
It hurt like heck.
I think it bit/punctured 2 times on my toe.
I seem too...
so lastnight I go into my office room to take a look at some wood flooring samples I just got from home depot and move the rug aside to place down the samples. Just then a giant wolf spider jolts out from under the rug.. typically these guys are the staple food for my nepenthes so I trap him...

I found white mold on the soil of my ventrata today.
A couple of months ago i repotted it and just filled up the room between the rootball and the pot with new soil.
It's the new soil that has mold on it.
I usually water the plant every 1 or 2 days, on dry dies the plant sucks up all the water...
