Hi guys. About a year ago I bought a Lan Shan brand RO filteron ebay. Well, guess what? I went to home depot, thinking all membranes are the same, and got a GE membrane (only kind they had). I come home and open it up, and it's bigger than my casing and looks completely different. The membrane I...
I always buy my drinking water from Glacier Water dispensers that are located outside grocery stores. I recently noticed that they have their filtration process labeled on the machine and it says that the water goes through reverse osmosis along with several other processes.
Here is the process...
Is there anybody that would be interested in trading a comperable assortment of CPs for a brand new, in-the-box Kenmore Reverse Osmosis Unit? I wanted to test the waters (no pun intended) before pulling the ebay auction for the unit. The sticker price is $229 so I'd expect more than a cape...
I'm not offically selling anything just yet, but I wanted to see if anybody had some suggestions as to what would be plants that I could get rid of. I'm being laid off and have some other issues tugging at the wallet so I am considering selling some plant things. I could use freeing up some...
Two months ago, I saw my first nep ever. It had pitchers, and I was immediately right up in there examining it. I wonder what it is? I will post picks as soon as I can so we can identify it. It resides in the college conservatory… [frowns] and as far as I know it doesn’t get any different water...
Ok, Here is the deal, I know that Cps need water thats pure, like rain water (no mineral run offs) or Distilled or Reverse Osmosis water. For mine, I ALWAYS buy it in gallon Jugs at supermarket, BUUUUUT I was recently wondering if it is possible W/out a reverse osmosis filter. I stumbled across...
Hey! I was just working in my backyard and drinking a bottle of Aquafina water, when I noticed the label said Reverse Osmosis water. Could this work cause It would greatly cut down on the amount of money I spend on distilled water
A Persian liquor store had those terrible little two ounce type of small plastic cups and I saw two beautiful white Betta, most likely female due to their unpretentious fins.
I purchased them at five bucks apiece (I know, this is more than how they're usually marketed) but they were so darling...
Man, I just spent all day installing this reverse osmosis. More complicated than they said it would be. Finally got it all working but... it's kinda leaky. A few drips here and there, but their ading up. How leaky are your units? How should I solve this problem?
I just got a reverse osmosis system on ebay.

Got it for $71, and an aweful $32 shipping. Was this a good deal, or could I have found it cheaper? Thanks for your advice.
I live in an efficiency apartment and I'm interested in finding a small reverse osmosis system for my CPs. I'm getting tired of lugging huge jugs of distilled water from the grocery store, but I don't have a lot of space in the kitchen to spare for a unit.
I don't have a huge collection of CPs...
I got a question. Is all bottled water bad for these plants or just the ones that say "enhanced with minerals for taste"? I ask because Aquafina says on the back "purified by state of the art hydro-7 reverse osmosis". So is it good to use?
It has become obvious that with my new passion for CPs, I will need to purchase a reverse osmosis unit. I'm know absolutely nothing about them and just looked on EBay - only to be overwhelmed. Would someone please advise on what I should look for? I'm not very mechanically oriented and as such...

I was just wondering what quality water everyone uses to water/mist their Nepenthes, and their thoughts on how water quality affects the plants' growth and general health.
Here is my setup: I use a single reverse osmosis membrane to filter the water coming from my garden tap. As it passes...
Hey all,
Im going to start this topic as a newcommer. A very annoyed newcommer. You see, i have a problem. I can grow some plants very well, and others very suck. The weirdest thing is, its usually easier plants that i end up killing.
My plants are in a 20L tank with three flourecent terrarium...
I have been using distilled water so far for my plants, but am planning to switch to RO to save money (in the long run). I have read previous articles on these forums, and have narrowed it down to these two systems:
AQUA AQUARIUM 100GPD REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER FILTER
Reef 125GPD Reverse Osmosis...
Many years ago I had stopped at an Orchid Nursery in the vicinity of San Diego, California. While there I purchased a sibling cross produced seedling of Cattleya harrisoniana -- They were in 2 inch pots and staged together on a greenhouse bench. One of the parents was reported to be tetraploid...
