I was just staring at plants and was comparing in my mind the different groth stages they are at in regards to thier picther inflation.
My fastest picthering plant is by far my campanulata and the slowest is my merrilliana. Although my merril does have the largest pitchers to inflate.
So which...
Unfortunately when I had finally fully completed my terrarium and was ready to fill it up it was already winter and too cold to safely order lowland nepenthes online.
I’m currently still waiting till I can order them safely but when exactly is this? What month(/temperature) normally?
The sooner...

Hello guy's, well i have two questions about temperature.
First one is, I grow a Maxima and a Gentle on a south facing window-sill. I give the room cooling overnight. I mist allot like 5-7 times a day, and the humidity is always somewhere between 65 and 80. The maxima is doing fine, but the...
Hello guys,
Me and Anthro went to the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden (Netherlands) today to visit the carnivorous plants collection, which turned out to be only worth visiting for the Nepenthes genus (our intention anyway) because the Sarracenia / Drosera (the size of pygmies even though they...
Hey guys/gals who has one of these? I think they're awesome and I have one on its way to my house. I've always wanted one but only ever able to get a hybrid on one. So now that I'll soon have one since Its a somewhat uncommon nep I was wondering who else grows it? Oye and you have any pics by...
My merrilliana put out a new leaf but it is significantly smaller than the previous one. Does this mean it wants the deeper pot I hear merrill'ies like to have? It's still in the pot it came in which is like 3" across and 4" tall. The plant other than the latest leaf is 3-4" across.
Thanks
Joe
Hi guys I have this N. reinwardtiana x macrovulgaris in a four inch pot right now and its had three pitchers two of which are old and the tops are starting to go bad (you know like an old pitcher does) it has several tendrils that are forming. The leaves are about 4 inches. I'm looking to trade...

Been poking around my neps lately (that's different from when?), and I'm getting a bunch of basal shoots. My fusca (old news), my reinwardtiana (sp?), and my merrilliana are all producing basal shoots! The merrilliana really suprised me. BONUS!
Now the question is....Do I let them grow on the...
Hey since my first Nep. I have had a pither come on it or have seen a leaf develope. Never had I seen on my own plants both of these things happen. Now I have grown and seen a shoot grow then unfurl and then PITCHER
I think that is a milestone.
This was done by my bical and my merrilliana at...

My bical is growing great without missing a step since it arrived and the same for my merrilliana, both are pitchering and sending new leaves while the pitchers are forming. The new leaves are showing signs of pitchers as well.
I wish I had a digital camera so I could take pictures.
