Today I took a bunch of leaf cuttings on the Mexican pings. Some are easy because the leaves are big enough or the leaves are like corn niblets and break off by just rubbing the perimeter. Some are more challenging, like P. gypsicola. So what I did for the more challenging ones is take a...

Here is a photograph of a Pinguicula seed pod -- others to follow:
One pod, forming now is on a Pinguicula gracilis flower, pollinated with Pinguicula gypsicola. I am quite anxious to see if this cross works out and then to see what they will look like. I'm also curious to try using Pinguicula...

I had 5 successful sprouts of P. gypsicola. 4 of them looked like minaitures of the parent, with growth mode leaves. But one started out and has perpetuated the "winter" leaves. All sprouts are under the same conditions. Anyone know why?

Right now all I have are...

Late last fall Joseph Clemens sent me a P. gypsicola and it had the classic summer leaves look. I promptly put the plant on the window sill and that look changed radically in a few months:
In the spring I put the plant in the closet, under artificial lighting, with an ~15 hour photoperiod. It...
I made this list up for another thread of what I grow as windowsill plants. I was curious what plants others grow this way.
When I first started to grow CP's, I also thought you had to have high humidity. My first tank has water in the bottom of it all the time to keep the humidity up. The top...

Hi. Im looking for the folowing mexican pings. I know they are not very common but perhaps someone can spare a winter leaf or a small plant or seeds? My uncle is in the US and soon he is going to mail some succulents and get the needed sertificates to mal them and all that so if some on from the...
I've got this P. gypsicola and I'd like to accommodate its pH needs more than I have. So rather than buy a big bag of crushed coral at a pet shop, I thought I'd try the tarding post, for a smaller amount, in a trade for pings or leaf cuttings. Anybody have crushed coral they can spare?
The following plants I have available for trade. I am also seeking pollen from any heavily veined S. oreophila's out there to pollenate my oreo with rather then selfing. Please email with offers.

Hey,
I've got 3 packets of S. rubra ssp. gulfensis from Yellow River, FL., about 20+ seeds per packet collected a couple days ago. I don't remember selfing this flower but it can only be self pollinated because it bloomed in early winter/late fall. I have a pic of the plant if anyone...
