Larry from http://insectivorous.com and I realized we live extremely close to each other so we decided to meet up and visit the Cal State Fullerton greenhouse to check out Sarracenias, Droseras, Pinguiculas, Cephaloti, Nepenthes, etc!!! (and of course, the best: venus fly traps). Most of the...
My U. livida won't stop making flowers, and now there's a forest of them! But, just today I noticed that they smell just like hyacinths, very fragrant.
Here's a pic:

Hi all,
I have this lovely 10' tree in my backyard, and no idea what it is. I believe it may be a tree from China, as my parents remember having trees like this while growing up there. The flowers are extremely fragrant - smelling like a mix of banana, apple, strawberry? Well, let's just say it...

Hello all:
I am just establishing a small collection of Drosera species and would really, really like to obtain a few starts of D. madagascariensis and D. paradoxa. All commercial CP sources seem to not have any available at the present time.
I realize that the D. paradoxa is quite rare and...
Ok, I've just finished reading all of the posts on the Pinguicula forum starting at the very beginning. Or, to be more honest, all of the posts on this forum related to the Mexican Pinguicula species and hybrids thereof.
However, no one ever seems to mention if any species or hybrids have...

Hi! I'm fairly sure these are Devil's trumpets, but I'm not 100% positive. At any rate, my mother in law is inundated with seeds from this beautiful flower. The plants get to the size of a small bush, and starting in mid to late summer, produce large (3 to 4 inch diameter, 4 to 5 inch long)...
This is my first flower on my Stanhopea. It is so exciting and very powerfully fragrant, (but nice).
You can see some other pictures here:

I'm curious if anyone's tried pollinating their Tillandsia? I had some T. recurvata that produced seed last year, and I actually have a small one that grew from those seeds. Now I just want to make more, and get a few crosses.
It would be kind of nice to breed a fragrant flowered Tillandsia in...
Besides S. rubra and some species or pygmy sundews are there any other CP that have fragrant flowers? Is there anyone here that offers these plants for sale? I would really like some. Thanks, LA Trap

My D. lasiantha flower opened today. It's bright pinkish purple and 1.5 cm across, nearly as big as the entire plant. I will try and get a picture sometime this week.
First D. echinoblasta, with big orange flowers, then D. roseana with fragrant white flowers, now this.
Yay.
