I will have some pollen in the future, as my Eldon Lee is flowering again. This is one of Bruce Bednar's personal creations. Same as always, Ill send you the pollen, you send back half the seeds.
EDIT: exact parentage: ([Kampotiana x Maxima]x[Northiana x Maxima]) x (Alata x Khasiana)-fwew...
I thought I would have to wait two years before these would come full circle. Nope, these two precocious babies wanted to surprise me for the holidays! :boogie:
Presently, these two are 285 days old.
Feel free to move this thread if its in the wrong space. There was no 'questions about terrariums' section here. X)
So, I already have a 10 gallon fish tank that is empty and needs some sort of life form in it.But I think little terrariums to put on my window ledges would be nice too, since I...
Things are doing very nicely now that they are all settled in. I've corrected the problems the plants had when they were given to me, and have them healthy enough to be flowering and able to be cloned.
Some of these were very unhappy barely growing, when I got them.
Figured I'd add this here... I've got some succession pictures for you. First, though, I will give you some background on this plant. It came out of dormancy this past spring and flowered for me, because I wanted to get seed from it, and my FTS Maroon Monster was flowering and I thought that...
What do you guys recommend?
In my country, it's not called Osmocote. But either way, it acts like osmocote and has almost the same ingredients. It doesn't have any urea so it's quite safe.
Should I get 14-14-14 (NPK) 6 months for leaf greenery
Or 14-9-15 (NPK) 6 months for general use...
This little stinker, Liparis reflexa, is starting its flowering this year. There are two inflorescences so the resulting scent will be delightful as they open their flowers :awesome:. I can't help feeling that from a certain angle the plant is trying to tell me something.
Hybrid sarracenia seed are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. I am clearing out my “seed vault” and up for grabs are sarracenia seed collected from my bog plants last year. These are either selfed or cross-pollinated with a different variety by nature (bumble...
Can you guys please help me identify some plants here?
I know for sure that the lots of them (loads and red) are capensis red. The one flowering is spathulata? And i recognise the two small burmannii.
Cheers and i'll come with updates!
Well I grow two different types of passion flower. Passiflora incarnata and p. Caerulea. The p. Caerulea does ever flower, but produces beautiful foliage so I don't mind. My p. Incarnata is at the end of its first year of growth and had a flower, now is producing a fruit with , I hope, viable...
Is this normal? Should I try to do something about it or just let it grow? I have a second cutting of the same plant (aristolochioides x spectabilis) which looks like it's going to do the same thing. Both cuttings activated 2 nodes when they rooted as well.
I have had this nepenthes for going on 2 years now. It has now just started to flower! I'm pretty excited because this is the first flowering nepenthes I've ever had. Can anyone help me identify if this is male or female by any chance?
and heres the unknown nepenthes pitcher unfolding
Hello,
They've been a bit shocked from me moving, but it appears that my Drosera Regia are flowering. Here are a few photos. I took them a while back so they are much closer to flowering now:

I wouldn't mind...
There have been plenty of threads about flowering Nepenthes recently, so what's one more?
I have pollen stored currently of N. x mixta, 'Miranda', and (inermis x singalana) x mira available, the last one sending up another flower stalk as well. I have also begun collecting pollen of 'Rebecca...
The botanical garden that I work for was the recipient of a very generous donation last fall. We received a flowering Drosophyllum last fall, and I have recently collected the seed.
I have four packets of 10 seeds each to give away in order to pass on some of that generosity.
I will...
This Japanese orchid has a reputation for not repeat flowering. It's my sixth year to have it in flower so I'm not too sure why it has that reputation. It just gets on with it quietly under one of the benches.
The information I first read on it said it was saprophytic so I've not re-potted or...
In January, my Utricularia chrysantha began to flower. However, since the container I was growing them in was too short, the flowers hit the lid and began growing sideways without flowering. In March, I transplanted them to a much taller container and the stalks began to grow upright. They still...
