I was finally able to snap a couple of shots of two of my better highlanders. It took a while to get the highland tank set up in the basement and after about a year and a half of nothing from the N diatas, it obviously likes the current home:
Last summer I did get a couple of pitchers on...
N. truncata x (thorelii x aristolocioides) & Stanhopea nigroviolacea "Predator"
Better shot of the N. truncata x (thorelii x aristo)
N. diatas
a very hungry N. "macrophylla"
I am contemplating parting ways with this N Red Leopard to clear up some room in the highland tank (plus it is getting too big for the tank's head room) but wanted to first see what the interest level might be.
If I do trade it, I'd need something in return that will make it worth the effort of...
There doesn't seem to have been a diatas thread for a while so I thought I'd start one. I bought 2 of them over a year and a half ago. One died quickly while the other has been hanging on, but not really doing anything.
This winter, I finally got a highland environment that seems to work...
This info came across the VCPS listserver & even though it comes across as blatant spam, anyone who has seen some of his other books & enjoys Nepenthes will cough up the bucks ... The email also had 21 beautiful color pics of Neps - however, I don't know how to share those pics w/o hosting each...

Hey all,
I bought a very young N. Diatas probably about 7-9 months ago. In the last 4 months or so it's been slowly but steadily declining. I've placed it in a couple of different windows to see if different lighting would make a difference, to no avail.
A few weeks ago I noticed that though...
Hey guys - I though I'd post a few photos! I look forward to seeing how these plants look in the future .
A note: Most of these guys are brand new, so they are still adjusting.
Also: These were all taken on September 10th 2008- the time on the camera is messed up, somehow.

I am interested in all heliamphora, even the ones i already have...
I need to make room in my lowlander terrarium, so P. moctezumae and D. lanata need to go. I'm looking to trade them for various species of Nepenthes, most notably N. copelandii, N. stenophylla, N. singalana, and N. diatas. I might consider other highlanders, but those are the ones I want the...

Hi All,
I'm putting up this list- I'm trying to gauge how to go about doing this: I'm hoping to offer the following to those in the general area where I live, near Philadelphia, PA, or anyone who wants to come here from where ever, as I'm pretty sure some would drive a bit for some of these...
In November, I ordered 2 Nepenthes diatas from...somehwere...and they were pretty much the same size with one or two pitchers on each. I decided to put them in different environments to see what happened. One went right into an tank without a lid on it and under CFs. The other was just tossed...
