Would peat moss make the water too dirty?

I was planing on putting some peat moss in a cage and sloping it down to make a water area for fire belly toads. To make things wet and humid like they like it I was gonna just fill the tank up with water until it reached to be level with the land area. Would this make the water too dirty or would it end up clearing up with a filter?

the filter will clear it...................however it will stain the water so your going to have to do water changes every so often.........a nice light tea color is good......nothing wrong with coffee color you just cant see anything

What would make it look the most realistic without messing up the water?

what do you mean messing up the water? all thats happening is tannins are getting released. same thing happens when yah add wood to the tank.......no way to stop it, water changes just keep it from getting to dark you cant see through it

Maybe and multicolored sand and pebble mix.
