So I think it may be possible to grow sarrs and vfts completely outdoors here after all, the only problem is the wind. The hot dry wind tends to dessicate and break plants on bad days. I'm just looking for ideas on how to create a wind block. My idea after reading an article for bonsai it to take diamond pattern trellace and make a "wall" of sorts around the bog, and doubling it up if need be.
