what wattage?

I was thinking of moving my bical from the window into a 10 gallon tank. I was just wondering what wattage is best and how far away should the light be?

you don't necessarily need 40 watt bulbs. wattage is not as important as lumens, CRI, and color temperature when looking at lights. check this post out for some good information: http://terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87561

I haven't found a tube that had an L or lumens measure on it.

I had assumed he meant 4 40W CFLs, though I had originally thought he meant tubes, hence the post I made and then deleted up above.
With CFLs lumens and the actual wattage output are usually on the back of the package or on the front at the bottom. Sometimes it takes a minute to find it.

I really want to use tubes, but are there compacts you can suggest, about 20" or slightly larger?
