From what I understand, the Mimosa closes up to protect the leaves against the massive rainfall of its natural habitat...
Shouldnt think it hurts it too bad if it's a survival treat.

the large tree forms. but this is the sensitive plant form...doesnt send up offshoots and only gets a few inches tall (though phil faulisi has grown it to several feet
