What kind is this? I need identification.

Does anyone know what kind this is? it didn't come with a label. And also, if you find out what kind it is, I need info on dormancy. Thanks!

If you got it at Lowes or Home Depot or the like and it was called a "Starfish Plant" then it's a Pinguicula 'Titan' from Booman's Floral or Nurserymens Exchange. It looks like my P. 'Titan' but I'm no Ping expert.

Mexican Pinguicula don't really go dormant, just start producing non-carnivorous leaves. It will start looking like a succulent plant at the point. Cut back watering dramatically.

What if I grow them inside, should I put them in the fridge for dormancy? That is what my friend does.

An attic where it is cool but not frigid or an unheated stairway with a window works. If not, don't sweat it. Just cut back on watering.

I think I'll cut back on watering and put him in shade outside in my patio. We get kinda mild winters, but it does get cold.

A north or west facing window sill will probably do. You want to protect these from frost. Reduced photoperiod and water is more important than temps.

I don't have any north or west windows, but I do have a south one that gets 2 hours of sun a day. Would that work?
