I've tried 3 different brands. Even the high quality nursery-grade peat was problematic for me without rinsing. It only measured about 35ppm out of the bag too.
Not long ago, I bought a large bale of "premium" brand peat moss and built a mixed species temperate CP planter without first washing the peat. Within days, a rime built around the rim of the planter at the water line, making it obvious how much dissolved mineral there was in the peat. After that, I always wash the peat at least once before putting it into service. YMMV, of course.
