Voodoo Lily stinks up my house

I haven't witnessed one of these flowering in many years, so I was very excited to have gotten flowering size bulbs this year. I've taken pictures of it everyday. Here's some pics of the flower spike emerging, then flowering. After it was done flowering (one lousy day), I cut it open to see the insides.

That's so cool Larry! Mine died a couple years ago, even the baby tubers. I didn't even know why!

Mine have never survived additional years either, I think it's a conspiracy from the Dutch bulb company!

I never really noticed a bad smell though. I put my nose deep into the opened blooms and only got a faint whiff of what reminded me of a latex rubber halloween mask.
