vft not digesting?

i have these new vft's i got about a week ago. i fed one a dead cricket and opened up 3 days later with the cricket not fully digested. i mean you could still see the shape of the cricket and it was a little dark. what could cause this?

VFTs require live food. Once the trap has closed, if the prey doesn't wriggle inside, the plant assumes its caught an inanimate leaf or something and reopens.
