It might not be ideal, but N. ventricosa is notoriously hardy, so if there were ever a plant to try it out with, it would be this species.
It does well as an intermediate and a highlander, it may even do fine as a lowlander just so long as it doesn't get too much warmer than 80? I have trouble believing that it would die outright though.
They are cheap, plentiful and easy to grow, so it seems like it is worth it to see if it might survive for you.
