Utric Problem

Getting There...
So I came home this weekend and saw that my U. laxa and U. blanchetii doing poorly. I have 4 other types, all doing well ( I think). Any idea why these two might be doing worse? Here are a feq quick pics I snapped.

U. blanchetii, not doing so hot...

U. pubescens, doing much better...al the urtics are in the same container, in the same conditions.

Any input is GREATLY appreicated. The yare in maybe 1.5 inch tall containers, I refill the container they are all in the the

Bumpity?

for what it's worth...I keep my Blanchetii a bit drier.
It is in a 4" tall pot standing in 3/4" water.
The soli mix is a bit airier than yours as well.
Hasn't stopped blooming since I got it from Gill-za.
(BTW thanks again Gill-za!)

In my experience U. blanchetii was always a slow grower. It very slowly grows to a certain mass and then starts to pick up fast. If I were you I'd make several soil mixes something like: pure unchopped LFS, Chopped LFS, Chopped LFS : Sand, Peat : Sand and seed them with little plugs from your main colony. I've noticed that I have the best results in Chopped LFS:Sand but that will vary depending on your conditions I's think. Recently started a mixed colony of Sandersonii and Blanchetii in peat:sand to have them bloom together (for my significant other amusement :), and although sandersonii is very quick I see blanchetii leaves poking out an many places already.

Water level.. hmmm mine depends on whether I forget to fill the tray or not.

And keep U. pubescens in a sealed container if you can, it grows from the bottom and starts invading other pots really quick :)

P.S. Boxofrain it was my pleasure! Thank you RL7836 for the original giveaway :) !

Hmm would be helpful to know more about what you have them planted in and how deep the water level is vs pot height etc.
I have U. blanchetii and pubescens not sitting in any water, but they get watered every day from the sprinkler system. U. laxa sits in a tray of water continuously but the water level is not more than 1/3-1/2 way up the side of the pots.

My main concern is the potting mix looks really funky.. Very dense and very wet.. perhaps anoxic conditions? I use a peat/sand mix, roughly 75/25%.

Edit:
I wanted to add that I grow all my Utrics, depending on species, either without any water tray, in a shallow tray full of water at all times, or in a tray that has the water level at the top of the soil line. Sometimes I have to play around and try different setups when I get new species to see what they do best in. For most I use the 3:1 peat:sand mix regardless of which water level they prefer.

Edit Edit:
Oh I should also add that all my Utrics are in the same area so those that are in either the shallow or deep tray are ALSO watered from the overhead sprinklers every day. This allows the plants to get flushed from the top down and the water in the trays to get replaced with fresh water over time.

From all the advice I got, I changed out all of my Utrics into a sandier mixture to make it more airy. I've also adjusted the water level to be significantly lower, but still keeping them moist.

how do i get my Sandersonii to bloom the whole pot is overflowing with plants and roots but it never flowers dah
