For the first time for a few years the Dionaea lost all the top foliage this winter. We had "The beast from the east" then a warm(hot) spell and then "The return of the beast". All the plants have now broken surface but there's quite a gap in growth.

Here's a Pink Venus that has just broken surface.



Contrasting with the growth on plants from my own seed.

A slight oddball has appeared on an All Red.

It's the first instance of this I've seen since I started growing these plants and I have always left the inflorescences on.
