The terrariums look kind of bare now due to so many plants being removed to start dormancy. Good thing I took the pics when I did!
I envy those of you who can grow CP's without the need of a terrarium.. but due to our harsh Alaskan winters an indoor set-up like that is almost a necessity.

Wood heat doesn't help either.. talk about low humidity!

Anyways, come on everyone.. keep posting those great pics

She jumped onto the terrarium and fell through the lid... it was one of the many times I've walked into my room to find a Felis catus next to my Utricularia tricolor sitting on a U. sandersonii and chewing on a lovely Pinguicula lutea.

(Not always the same plants of course..

)

Yes, I did. It looks a little less professional in person, as i am not a very skilled carpenter.

Someday, though, I will have a greenhouse. I'd love to have my utrics in bigger pots, with proportionately more flowers.

That really is a beautiful terrarium. I'm just curious though. I would be a bit worried about about the humidity affecting the lights and their electrical components. No probs. in that department? Is there ventilation? I can't quite make out that kind of detail looking at it.

Do you put sand on the tops of all your pots? For neatness or does it help with something else? It looks really really nice!

We got our silica sand at a welding shop. Industrial shops provide that sort of thing for sandblasting and such.

Personally, no problems with my tank and electrical components with humidity.

What CP are in there?

There is a sheet of glass between the plants and the lights, so humidity isn't a problem, and the bottom of the each level is sealed so water can't leak into the fixture below.

The sand was an experiment to see if it would help with the algae. It helps a little bit, but the plants seem happier without it. Not a very scientific experiment.
