Quote[/b] (agustinfranco @ May 04 2006,3:58)]Hey Santos:

I forgot to mention that when i used to live in an apartment i also had a set up very similar to yours, but there was a big problem: not enough light exposure, so the message is: make sure your plants get enough light for them to pitcher properly.

this basicaly stands in full sun!

i must say that the plants took the higher light levels fine! so sign of stress or leaf burn. must be that waxy layer...

Santos, I was worried about my new N. eymae when it arrived; it was all green when I got it and after the 1st day it had turned a deep burgundy red color from the sun it was in.  The plant has since well adapted and the new pitchers look strong.

Here is what it did in the sun in 24 hours:
p_eymae_sun_1.jpg

Here is one of the reddened leaves that has since started pitchering:
p_eymae_sun_2.jpg

Look at the newest leaf it has grown; this was produced completely in my conditions and isn't showing any red:
p_eymae_sun_3.jpg

Notice for comparison in size and color the red leaf underneith; this is on the same plant.

Many of my other Neps that reddened since moving in the sunny greenhouse have new growth much stronger than the previous growth.  They seem to need a short acclimation period but after going through this, they seem to respond much better.  I am sure your plants will do fine in your new brighter conditions.

*UPDATE*

all the plants have adjusted well to the move in full sun, well the ones that get full sun. the thorellii x aristo toloerates full sun for me and its starting to vine! other things are showing significant growth due to the warmer spring/summer weather...

Thanks for sharing, pretty cool pix.

Geesh. Nice, very nice.
You California Nep growers make me sick with your "I grow my plants outside or on a  windowsill" attitude.
I would go out there and kick all your butts, except you outnumber Nebraska nep growers by about 200 to one, lol!
I think Copper gave up hers, so I am not familiar with any others..

 Cheers,
