Sowing Seeds

Hey all
I will be getting some seeds soon and I was wondering how to sow them. I hav gotten some info from the person sending me the seeds but I dont wanna mess anything up. Here are my questions mainly: Wat conditions, wat soil, and how to grow them successfully, pretty much. Thanks!

Germinating them is really easy, getting them to survive their 1st year is the hard part...

Yes,
Ive red that and I was looking for more of a climate thing here. How much light, temp, humidity and the such. Also, I got some plastic circular trays that are about 10" across. Do u think one will hold a hundred seeds?

Hmmm...... not for me! I had N.mirabilis seeds sent to me 3X and I tried various approaches, involving heat, light, time, and humidity. Nary a one germinated.

Freshness of seed sent was posed as a reason why.

My seeds are only going to be about 3-4 weeks old so I think Im okay with freshness but I need to know the info from my last post. Thanks!

I've got some tips on my website. Obviously there are big differences in highland and lowland seed, and I specialise in highland species. Seedlings will grow in very low light levels for many months, and need to be slowly accustomed to higher light levels.

I currently have the same types of nep seeds as you in my nep pots.

due to the lack of space, I had to sow them wherever there is empty space. The top layer is always sphagnum moss. Temperature are in the 80s both day and night and humidity level is always >60%. I have N. mirabilis x coccinea seeds germinate within a month for me under the same conditions.

Cindy, is your LFS dried or live? Do you cover them? Is your media, slightly damp or wet?

Im getting mine from a buddy in Borneo. Im expecting it to come in about 5 days.

P.S. I have a terrarium that has those exact same conditions!
