yes they are. what you have is S. x Wrigleyana(sp?) or maby the cultivar of that 'Scarlet Belle'. its a mix of Leucophylla and psitticina(sp?) some of them may stay closed while others open. take a look at one of them... there should be a small hole like one of Darlingtonia. if you realy want to see what one looks like, pop one open and look at the divided mouth.

Yea I have one of these, and Havent had that pigment differential like you have.

Unless the difference in Cultivators cause this? But I allways thought the Traps Came out with the color, instead of it being formed with it opening.

Im really confused now!
 
like on of its parents S. psittacina the pitchers stay inclosed(unless you have mine which the hoods do part and fully open for some reason) does that answer one question? on mine the hoods split and look somthing like minor but the hood is not as extremly...eh bent down. more like 'Dixie Lace'. and when the pitchers first open the little hole underneath them they are very pale red color. about a week later they really darken up and are very pretty.
