Soil

Correct - This concrete block bin is a miniature of the habitat the pumice was residing in where I obtained this load.

I see....if you used one of those large Rubbermaid totes to store the pumice in, it would become agitated and it's health would decline.

Cheers,

In their soil mix, has anyone tried using those potassium polyacralate(sp?) crystals...the water absorbing crystals that swell up into a gel like substance? I'm wondering if they could be used as an alternative to sand. Plus, they also have the advantage of slowly releasing the water and may be able to keep the humidity higher in the vicinity of the plant.
