Snow?

I was just wondering what you guys think about collecting snow over the winter for watering plants? Any insight or opinions are greatly appreciated.

I have to if I want to avoid buying a bunch of water over the winter. I melt it down in buckets that I load around the Sarracenia indoors to keep them cool.

I did it for years and it worked just fine.

Is that a non tropical pitcher plant?

The picture is captioned. It's a Pinguicula primuliflora which I have since moved inside as it's likely to freeze this week and I'm not sure if this species will survive that.
