I was curious if anyone has snakeflies in their area. I haven't seen one in a couple years, and I had no idea they existed until I saw these guys.
To me they look more like something someone dreamed up in a computer animation studio than something I expect to find on my plants. They are predators, related to lacewings and antlions. I don't know the genus/species of this particular one. Clearly the one in the second and third photos is female.
