Silica sand

I am having trouble finding sand, home depot only seems to have one grade, 30 which seems to fine... does anyone have an idea of where to go to find a larger grade

I get mine at the local lumber yard. Have you checked gardening centers? If all else fails check at a gravel pit. They often supply different grades of rock and sand to contractors and landscape companies. They may have something you can use. Also, try a pool/spa place. Filter sand can be used for planting mixes.

I also got mine at a local lumber yard for very cheap less then $5 for 75#!
