Sheet moss

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has successfully grown sheet moss without using a greenhouse or terrarium. If anyone has and can give me pointers I would greatly appreciate it. I live in southern California so if your climate is the same and you can grow it it would be even better. Thanks.

Are you referring to Thuidium, or Fern Moss?

I didnt know there were more than one type for this one. I think im asking about the fern moss.

Thuidium is the latin name for Fern Moss. They are one in the same.. I was just curious if that's what you meant when you say sheet moss. Google some images.
